Traders Meet DCP West in Lucknow, Raise Key Market Concerns

Lucknow : A delegation from the Akhil Bharatiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal, led by Metropolitan President Suresh Chablani, met Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vishwajeet Srivastava at his Kaisarbagh office today to highlight pressing issues affecting traders and customers in major markets across the city.

The delegation submitted a memorandum detailing their demands, with the following key concerns:

  1. Traffic congestion caused by e-rickshaws at major intersections and market areas, leading to frequent jams. The traders requested increased police patrolling in all key markets and better parking facilities.

  2. Persistent traffic snarls at Kaisarbagh crossing, which severely affect customer flow to important commercial hubs such as Nazirabad, Aminabad, Latouche Road, Naka, and Charbagh. Customers are often stuck for hours at intersections, preventing them from reaching the markets.

  3. Deployment of dedicated traffic constables at all major intersections to ensure smooth vehicular movement.

  4. Monthly coordination meetings at the police station level between local police officers and trade bodies to ensure ongoing communication and swift resolution of issues.

DCP West Vishwajeet Srivastava assured the delegation that all concerns would be addressed at the earliest possible, and that efforts would be made to improve traffic and safety conditions in commercial zones.

Notable members of the delegation included Aakash Gautam, Anuj Gautam, Ravindra Sonkar, Sabir Hussain, Sarabjeet Singh, Amarnath Chaudhary, Nitin Shyam Agrawal, Jai Miglani, Anil Agrawal, Jai Daswani, Kamal Gulati, Ravi Gupta, and Suraj Kashyap, among others.

This meeting comes at a time when Lucknow’s business hubs are witnessing a surge in footfall, underlining the need for smoother urban mobility.
